Frozen Inspired Bedroom Makeover

With my daughter's love for the motion picture hit, Frozen, how could I not give her a "Frozen inspired" bedroom makeover!!!  I started by planning, drawing out the design, and buying items for the room 2 months in advance. And then 3 days before Christmas we began the makeover. So here are some before and after pics to wet your appetite. Check back for post with "how-to" info!

Fruit of the Spirit

After this mornings message preached by Pastor Stuart Bell I was inspired to create this picture based on John 15:5 which states "I am the vine: you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me." I am so thankful for my Bible believing church family and so very blessed to have a Savior who can produce fruit in me!

Play Room Rules - Subway Style

I saw this cute idea when searching the internet and I wanted to make it my own and in colors that matched our play room. I then framed it and hung it up! Feel free to print this for yourself!!

Patience's First Birthday (Zebra print, hot pink, lime green)

I am a little behind the eight ball in posting about my daughter Patience's 1st birthday party. She is now 19 months old and is not living up to the name her daddy and I so lovingly gave her! But we love her non the less!!

For her 1st birthday we decided to go with the ever so chic zebra print accented by lime green and hot pink. I figured that eventually she would want to do some sort of cartoon character as her party theme so I wanted to stray away from that.

THE FOOD
Yummy!! For the food we wanted to go with items that would be easy for our little 1 year old to munch on. So we went with pizza bagels, mini corn dogs, fresh strawberries, pineapple and grapes and of coarse pink punch. We also had some bite size chocolate mints (they reminded me of Andes mints and were a BIG hit!) I made them using candy melts/wafers that I bought from Hobby Lobby. The tablecloth was constructed of 2 basic plastic lime green tableclothes and zebra print wrapping paper!  I know...ingenious right??!!  The placemats are non other than the ever so versatile, 12"x12" scrapbook paper. And the feathers you see...they are boas!
The cake before the attack!
The cake after halfway through the attack!
By the time the party was over there was only 2 pieces of cake left!

The cake had 3 tiers made with 3 cake mixes (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry.) I made homemade buttercream icing and chocolate marshmallow fondont to decorate it.  I used the fondont to make the zebra stripes on the cake. It is hard to see but there is also pink sprinkles on the cake.
She was not shy about having her cake and eating it too!

THE OUTFIT

Her outfit was made our of fabrics that cordinated with her party theme!  For her shirt I bought a onsie and appliqued a 1 on it. I also made her a cute pair of ruffled bloomers and a matching hairbow.

All about Mwah

I am a stay at home mom of 2 beautiful children.  My son, Gracen, is 3 and my daughter, Patience, is 10 months old.  I have been married to my husband, Warren, for six years. .I used to work full time at the corporate headquarters for one of the largest retailers in the world.  I wanted to stay home with my son so badly. I prayed for the Lord to provide a way for me to be able to quit my job to be a homemaker. When my son was 8 months old my prayers were answered. I quit my job and started a daycare in my home. Over the past couple of year I have transitioned into watching kids part-time and crafting on the side.

That brings me to Shelly's Crafting!!

Shelly's Crafting is my outlet! Everyone has something they like to do to help them relax and kind of get away for a little while.  Some of you like to read, write, take a bubble bath, the list goes on! I like to make stuff!!! I always have. But I never thought of it at a way to provide income for the family.  That was until I stumbled across Etsy.com and I had a light bulb moment. Shelly's Crafting was born.

Each item on www.shellyscrafting.etsy.com is handmade by me. I make burp cloths, bibs, clothing, hair bows and I am adding new items often.  I love making custom items for people as well.

I couldn't ask for more. I get to be home with my children and do what I love!!
